  • Ferrari Enzo Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview Ferrari's new Gran Turismo derives from more than 50 years of success and technology from Formula One. The Enzo is one of a small number of road cars that also includes the 288GTO, F40, and F50 and is named in honor of the company's founder. These vehicles showcase Ferrari's ongoing quest to build the most luxurious and cutting-edge road vehicle. Branding technology from racing into road vehicles is not a novel concept, especially for Ferrari. Ferrari's road and racing cars were essentially the same up until the late 1950s. Since then, safety standards, manufacturing costs, and practicality have clearly distinguished the vehicles we race from those we use for daily transportation. Enzo's mission was to close this gap. According to Luca de Montezemolo, "To bring together our racing success and the essential function of races, I decided that this car, which represents the pinnacle of our technology, should be dedicated to the founder of the company, who always believed racing should serve as the basis for our road car designs." The Enzo was created at Maranello using a plethora of Ferrari talent and tested by Michael Schumacher and Dario Benuzzi around Fiorano. The idea, which cost Ferrari 20 million euros to create, was known as the FX internally. Four hundred of the 350 Enzos that were initially produced were made in either red, yellow, or black, or a custom color if the customer's relationship with the company was strong enough. The additional fifty vehicles brought Ferrari USD 28.8 million (24.4 million EUR), with each vehicle selling for a profit of USD 554.00 (487.700 EUR). With these numbers, Ferrari has demonstrated that not only can they sell $50,000 vehicles, but they can also make a sizable profit from them. Ferrari Enzo: Ferrari's largest engine- The F140 V12. The Enzo is built on technology with a racing theme. As a result, the chassis is made of rigid tubs made of carbon fiber and aluminum honeycomb panels. At the center of the chassis is an all-new, twelve-cylinder engine called the F140. At two points, the engine is attached to an alloy sub-frame that contains vibration from leaking into the passenger compartment. With this sub-frame, the Enzo is particularly unlike the F50 and unlike Formula One cars. Only the Can-Am engines are larger than the F140, which is one of Ferrari's biggest engines. The Enzo can produce a considerable amount of torque thanks to its huge displacement, notably 137 ft-lbs (186 nm) more torque than the F50 at 1000 rpm sooner. Despite the engine's huge displacement, numerous variable systems allow it to produce 110 horsepower per liter. Highlights of the F140 engine include a continuously variable intake manifold and variable valve timing, both of which were directly lifted from innovations in Formula One. These features, which had never been integrated on a road car before the Enzo, enhance fuel efficiency and torque all through the rev range. Ferrari Enzo: Transmission The transmission unit, which is connected to the engine, also includes an oil tank, a bevel gear, and a differential. The clutch and gear shifts are automatically initiated by an electrohydraulic system. This gearbox is a road-legal Ferrari V12's first semi-automatic configuration. It can shift gears in sport mode in about 90 milliseconds and in 150 milliseconds thanks to developments from Formula One. When an upshift is required, the driver is alerted by four lights on top of the steering wheel. Two paddles are located behind the steering wheel and are used to change gears. There isn't a totally automatic choice available. Ferrari Enzo: Ingrained electronics Numerous inbuilt technological technologies, created by Ferrari Gestione Sportiva (Ferrari Sport Management), enhance the driver's comfort in the Enzo. A central computer coordinates the engine, suspension, gearbox, and aerodynamic subsystems to maximize performance and safety. Depending on the mode the driver chooses from the steering wheel, these subsystems will behave differently and communicate differently. Sport, Race, and No ASR are the three different control modes available on the Enzo. These options mainly alter the traction control, electrohydraulic shifting, and active damping settings. The driver has the option to use Launch Control, which was taken over from Formula One, in No ASR mode, the most aggressive setting. The ASR, Ferrari's fancy name for traction control, is receiving a lot of attention. To ensure a high level of stability during powerful cornering forces, the ASR primarily collaborates with the ABS. Only drivers like Benuzzi and Schumacher benefit from turning off the ASR since it is so technologically advanced. All test drives during the press preview at Fiorano had to be conducted with the ASR activated. Despite this, Tiff Needell of 5th Gear quickly turned it off, emphasizing his point with the words "I can't drive a Ferrari with that on" followed by "now the Ferrari is alive." Tiff obtained the best time of the day, but she still lagged Benuzzi by more than four seconds. Ferrari Enzo: Exertive suspension The Enzo uses a system of continuously regulated electronic dampers, as first seen on 575. With the help of this active damping, the Enzo can provide a smooth ride in sport mode or a stiff suspension in race modes. Internal proportional valves in the dampers are continuously adjusted to make them work. Enzo's braking system, which was created in collaboration with Brembo, has exceptional stopping force. The fifteen-inch carbon-ceramic brake discs on all four wheels are less temperature-sensitive than those used in Formula One, which only function properly when extremely hot. The application of a composite disc to a Ferrari road car was made possible by the carbon-ceramic brakes. When compared to traditional steel discs, the technique saves 27 lbs (12.5 kg) of unsprung weight. Corrosion resistance is another benefit of the CCM material. Ferrari Enzo: Aerodynamics and styling of Pininfarina A close partnership between Pininfarina and Ferrari dates back to the 1951 212 Inter Barchetta. Since then, Pininfarina has created the majority of Ferraris for the open road, including the Enzo, which features their most avant-garde design to date. Pininfarina's design mixes intricate detail with a precise, well-proportioned overall form. The outside of the Enzo has angular lines that interpret the Formula One nose, from which it got its technology. These design innovations in styling cues will be imitated by Ferraris and supercars of the future alike. The F40 and F50 that came before it had rear wings, but the Enzo does not. The car's rear underbody, which has two sizable diffusers, allowed for the lack of the rear wing. These diffusers produce enough downforce to take the place of a rear wing with a lot of drag. Additional active aerodynamics aid in Enzo's stability maintenance at all speeds. Both a front flap and a rear spoiler can be adjusted to accommodate big loads or fast speeds. The Enzo can reach a top speed of 217 mph (350 kph) by reducing its downforce from 1709 pounds (775 kg) to 1290 lbs (585 kg) above 186 mph (300 kph). The Enzo commemorates triumphs for Ferrari at a time of significant success, including four straight F1 titles. The semi-automatic, six-speed transmission and Pininfarina style have their roots in motor competition. This limited series bearing his name would undoubtedly make Enzo Ferrari the happiest man in the world. Ferrari Enzo: Pricing The Ferrari Enzo, no longer in production since its run from 2002 to 2004, boasts a price tag that reflects its exclusivity. While the original MSRP is difficult to pinpoint, expect a hefty sum in the hundreds of thousands. In today's market, prepare to shell out an average of $3.4 million USD for a used Enzo, with the price fluctuating based on the car's condition and mileage. Ferrari Enzo: Rating The Ferrari Enzo is generally considered an iconic and high-performing car, but ratings can vary depending on the source and what aspects are being rated. Here's a breakdown: Performance: Praised for its speed, handling, and downforce generation. Ferrari Enzo Scores high marks, like 8/10 or 9/10, in this area. Looks: A more subjective area. Some adore the aggressive design, while others find it too flashy. Reviews range from 8/10 to 9/10. Features: Being a high-performance machine, the Enzo prioritizes performance over comfort features. Ratings here might be around 8/10. Quality: With Ferrari's reputation for craftsmanship, the Enzo is generally considered exceptionally well-made, likely scoring high marks like 9/10. Overall, the Ferrari Enzo is a highly regarded supercar, especially for its performance and handling. The Conclusion The Enzo was built with compromises for the driver's comfort, unlike the Ferrari F50. Fortunately, Ferrari has utilized enough active technologies so the driver can modify the amount of comfort. Enzo's uniqueness is a result of its advanced electronics, which are built around Ferrari's best road-legal engine.

  • 2022 Chevrolet Equinox Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview Despite being one of the most well-liked compact crossovers in 2022, the Chevrolet Equinox isn't very intriguing. Yes, the Chevy boasts a lot of passenger space, an entertainment system with lots of features, and agile handling. When compared to its rivals, it lacks in terms of interior quality and storage capacity. All Equinox versions are propelled by the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine, though all-wheel drive is an option. The pricey trim levels make the 2022 Equinox more expensive, but those who are loyal to the bow-tie brand and unafraid of mediocrity will like it. What has changed for 2022? The upgrades to the 2022 Equinox are highlighted by a redesigned front end. The redesign includes new front and back bumpers, a new grille design, and more recognizable headlamps. In addition, Chevy also offers an RS variant with sporty styling elements including dark 19-inch wheels and blacked-out exterior trim. Black leather, red stitching, and a distinctive shift knob are all features of the inside. Additionally, the top-tier Premier boasts more elegant cabin accents including French stitching and gloss-black console trim. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which had more power, is no longer available, leaving the 1.5-liter turbo engine as the only option. Due to the global Coronavirus epidemic, this modification to Chevy's small SUV was initially scheduled for the 2021 model year but has been postponed to 2022. Which one to purchase? We would still advise the mid-level LT even if the stylish RS has been added to the Equinox portfolio near the top of the food chain. Exterior chrome trim, an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat, high-intensity discharge headlights, Sirius XM satellite radio, and other features are included as standard. We'd also choose the Confidence and Convenience package, which comes with features like rear cross-traffic alert, remote start, heated front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, and blind-spot monitoring. 2022 Chevrolet Equinox: Engine and Performance The turbo four-cylinder engine in the Equinox is underpowered and frequently leaves the driver gasping for air. It requires a strong foot to nudge the Equinox up to highway speeds thanks to its turbocharged 1.5-liter four-170 cylinder's horsepower and the optional (and heavier) all-wheel-drive system (front-wheel drive is standard). The basic six-speed automatic transmission changes smoothly, and when more power is required, the gearbox is reluctant to downshift to conserve fuel. The Equinox handles well, is agreeable to drive, and has precise, direct steering. Even with the standard 17- or 18-inch wheels, the ride is a little bumpy, and harsher sections of the road can convey some displeasure into the cabin. When properly outfitted, the Chevy can also tow up to 3500 pounds. 2022 Chevrolet Equinox: Pricing The 2022 Chevrolet Equinox starts at around $25,800 for the base LS trim level with front-wheel drive. The price can go up to $32,895 depending on the trim level and options you choose. Here's a quick breakdown of the starting MSRP for the different trims: LS: $25,800 (plus destination charges) LT: $28,795 RS: $31,995 Premier: $32,895 2022 Chevrolet Equinox: Fuel efficiency and MPG The front-wheel-drive Equinox should achieve 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA. Both ratings are decreased by 1 mpg when all-wheel drive is added. When we put the Equinox through our 75 mph real-world fuel-economy test route, it returned 32 mpg on the highway with front-wheel drive and 28 mpg with all-wheel drive. Visit the EPA website for more details regarding Equinox's fuel efficiency. 2022 Chevrolet Equinox: Interior and Comfort Equinox's cabin is made of sturdy materials and is tastefully designed, so it should appeal to a wide audience. The roomy inside should be comfortable for both front- and backseat occupants, and it has enough amenities to keep them happy on extended journeys. There are many cupholders inside, but most of the amenities are either available as standard or optional equipment on higher trim levels; the base Equinox L is a low-featured pricing leader. Although other competitors have greater room behind the back seats, we were still able to place eight carry-on luggage there. The Equinox's cabin storage is only average, save for a large center console storage bin. 2022 Chevrolet Equinox: Connectivity Chevrolet's My Link infotainment system is shown on the dash of the Equinox with a 7.0-inch touchscreen (an 8.0-inch device is available). The system continues to impress with its simplicity and responsiveness. Standard features include Bluetooth phone and audio streaming, USB connectivity, an auxiliary input port, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. One of the best-connected crossovers is the Equinox thanks to standard 4G LTE onboard Wi-Fi.

  • 2022 Toyota Corolla Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview The 2022 Toyota Corolla is a little car that's inexpensive, appealing, and packed with standard active safety systems. The Corolla offers a comfortable ride quality and sporty models all its own, even though rivals like the Honda Civic and Mazda 3 are more entertaining to drive. The Toyota is available as a sedan or a hatchback, much like many of its compact rivals. Although both vehicles have distinctive features, the hatch has an uncommonly smaller back seat and less cargo room than the sedan. A manual transmission is available on a few versions, and the sedan comes with a hybrid drivetrain that is incredibly fuel-efficient. Unfortunately, every model has a loud engine. The 2022 Corolla is still a well-liked option, particularly with buyers who value style and security. What has changed for 2022? The 2022 Corolla family only receives a few minor updates from Toyota. The LE Hybrid adds a Premium interior option that includes heated front seats, a power adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support, leatherette upholstery, and a steering wheel with leather detailing. Ruby Flare and Windchill Pearl are two new paint options for the sedan, and Finish Line Red is now an option for the hatchback. Which one to purchase? We'd go with the somewhat sportier SE sedan. It comes with a manual transmission and a sport-tuned suspension that makes driving it more enjoyable than with the standard setup. Even though it nullifies the option packages that would otherwise be available with the base continuously variable automatic transmission, we'd happily check that box (CVT). Thankfully, the Corolla SE sedan still includes a tonne of goodies that will keep us happy. The list also features front sport seats, a steering wheel with leather upholstery, 18-inch alloys, and an 8.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. 2022 Toyota Corolla: Engine and Performance The Corolla sedan employs a 139-hp 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine that drives the front wheels via a continuously variable automatic transmission, except for the sportier SE and XSE variants (CVT). An optional six-speed manual transmission or a CVT can be used with the 2.0-liter, 169-hp four-cylinder engine in the more powerful models. Only the sedan is available with a hybrid drivetrain, even though all hatchbacks have a bigger engine. Even the most powerful engine cannot provide appropriate acceleration, as demonstrated by our tests of the Corolla SE hatchback and the Corolla XSE sedan. The Toyota twins drove steadily on the highway and with caution in populated areas. Hard acceleration, however, resulted in gruff engine noises that detracted from their fineness. The Corolla hatchback and sedan both feature a smooth ride that effectively isolates all but the harshest bumps. Additionally, they are more agile than earlier incarnations thanks to their controlled body movements. With a more rigid sport-tuned suspension and the latter's larger 18-inch wheels, the Corolla SE and XSE further distinguish themselves from one another (everything else rides on either 15- or 16-inch rims). The Corolla's progressive steering is adequate but not exceptional when compared to agile and entertaining rivals like the Mazda 3 and Volkswagen Golf. Both Corolla body styles' brake pedals were trustworthy and simple to use, even though neither one performed well in our 70 mph to zero braking test (requiring between 174 and 183 feet). 2022 Toyota Corolla: Pricing The 2022 Toyota Corolla's pricing starts at $20,425 for the base L trim and goes up to $28,710 for the top-of-the-line Apex XSE trim. Here's a breakdown of the starting MSRP for some of the Corolla trims: L: $20,425 LE: $20,875 SE: $22,875 Nightshade: $23,575 XLE: $24,825 XSE: $26,325 Apex SE: $25,570 Apex XSE: $28,710 2022 Toyota Corolla: Fuel efficiency and MPG The Corolla sedan provides a highly frugal hybrid type in addition to two fuel-efficient four-cylinder engines. The hybrid should achieve 52 mpg on the interstate and 53 in the city, according to the EPA. In comparison, the government predicts the 2.0-liter engine in the nonhybrid car will achieve up to 40 mpg on the highway, while the 1.8-liter is predicted to achieve up to 38 mpg on the highway. On our 75 mph fuel-economy route, the hybrid we tested returned 56 mpg, while the Corolla XSE sedan returned 41 mpg. The Corolla hatchback has a city/highway fuel economy rating of up to 32 mpg. Both the automatic and manual hatchbacks that we tested achieved 40 and 36 mpg, respectively. 2022 Toyota Corolla: Connectivity A touchscreen infotainment system featuring Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a pay-per-use Wi-Fi hotspot is standard on every Corolla. Although the dashboard is dominated by the huge touchscreen, the several hard buttons and rotary volume and tuning knobs assist keep the driver's eyes on the road while operating it. The enhanced JBL audio system and wireless charging are popular choices. 2022 Toyota Corolla: Interior and Comfort Both the hatchback and sedan versions of the Corolla have a modern dashboard and soft-touch materials inside. Push-button start and passive entry are standard on most models. Ambient inside lighting, dual-zone climate control, and heated front seats are further options for others. The sedan has significantly greater legroom behind the front seats than the hatchback, so those who frequently transport passengers in the back should favor it. We could only put two carry-on bags in the Corolla hatchback's 18 cubic feet of cargo room under the back seat. The new, free Enhanced Cargo Space option, on the other hand, increases that volume by 6 cubic feet (totaling 23), by swapping out the spare tire with a tire repair kit. The sedan's trunk barely offers 13 cubic feet of space, but we managed to fit eight suitcases inside. Both body types have less internal cubby storage than other more roomy competitors. Thankfully, their center console has a handy tray at the front and helpful storage beneath the armrest.

  • 2022 Toyota Highlander Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview The 2022 Toyota Highlander is a family SUV with its eye on the mid-size prize. It is practical, comfy, and fashionable. This three-row car has a lot to offer and can be configured in several ways to appeal to as many people as possible. The Highlander is one of the few three-row SUVs with an available hybrid system, even though the standard engine is a V-6; both powertrains can be ordered with either front- or all-wheel drive. With the Highlander, Toyota has also taken the value-oriented way by including appealing infotainment and driver-assistance systems as standard across the entire lineup. Choose one of the Highlander's ritzier models to experience a more opulent interior that comes close to matching what a Lexus-branded SUV has to offer. The absence is a lack of driver involvement. Although the Highlander has a pleasant ride and passable acceleration, it doesn't have the same driving enthusiasm as competitors like the Kia Telluride, Hyundai Palisade, and Mazda CX-9. What has changed for 2022? A brand-new Hybrid Bronze Edition model has been added to the roster. It has stylish 18-inch bronze-colored wheels and an exterior paint job in Cement or Wind Chill Pearl. Additionally, the cabin receives some distinctive design components in the shape of illuminated bronze-colored doorsill guards and upholstery with geometric patterns and bronze-colored details. In addition, the front passenger's power seat is now height-adjustable on XLE and higher grades. Other than that, The Highlander will remain the same in 2022. Which one to purchase? The best vehicle overall, in our opinion, is the intermediate XLE. It boasts a motorized sunroof, wireless smartphone charging pad, and heated front seats among other conveniences. We'd also invest in the Premium Audio with Dynamic Navigation package, which includes improved stereo and in-dash navigation. The cost of an all-wheel drive will increase by $1600. Additionally, the hybrid powertrain will cost $1400 more than the normal V-6. 2022 Toyota Highlander: Engine and Performance The Highlander has a front- or all-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with 295 horsepower that works with an eight-speed automated transmission. Our all-wheel-drive test vehicle reached 60 mph at our test track in a respectably quick 6.7 seconds, and we discovered during a brief test drive that the V-6 could handle short on-ramps without exerting itself. The ride is excellent for serving as the family chauffeur because of its boring but stable handling. The Highlander Hybrid has a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric motors working together to provide 243 horsepower. This variant offers both front- and all-wheel drive and a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This powertrain offers customers something more fuel-efficient than the conventional model by utilizing Toyota's hybrid technology. The hybrid's lower horsepower rating plus the fact that this model employs a CVT rather than the nonhybrid's eight-speed automatic transmission cause a trade-off in acceleration performance. The hybrid vehicle reached 60 mph on our test track in 7.3 seconds. Potential customers in this market may be aware that the Ford Explorer is also available in a hybrid version. But if you compare the fuel efficiency of different Utes, the Toyota comes out on top. 2022 Toyota Highlander: Pricing The 2022 Toyota Highlander starts at $35,855 for the base L trim and can reach nearly $50,000 when fully loaded. It comes in various trims like L, LE, XLE, and Platinum, with both gasoline and hybrid powertrain options. The most affordable option is the L trim with a gasoline engine, while the most expensive is the Hybrid Platinum. 2022 Toyota Highlander: Interior and Comfort Bench seats in the second and third rows can accommodate eight people in base L and intermediate LE models, but higher trims offer a seven-seat configuration with second-row captain's chairs. Although there is more room than in the CX-9, especially in the third row, it is not as large as in the Chevrolet Traverse. The cabin's materials have been improved from the Highlander of the previous generation. The most luxuries are supplied by the upscale Limited and Platinum models, although they fall short when compared to the features offered by the Palisade or Telluride. Only four carry-on luggage could fit in the cargo area behind the third row, compared to six in the Traverse. 2022 Toyota Highlander: Connectivity Most trims come with an 8.0-inch infotainment system as standard, while the Highlander Limited and Platinum have a 12.3-inch screen. There is a JBL 11-speaker audio system available. For all models, Toyota offers Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa connectivity in addition to Sirius XM satellite radio and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot.

  • 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 truck is still strong and adaptable, but it's nicer and loaded with more cutting-edge technologies. The popularity of its high-end Denali line has helped the Sierra gain a reputation as the ritzier option to the Chevy Silverado 1500, but it has struggled to match rivals like the upper-crust Ram 1500s in terms of luxury. GMC's half-ton pickup is much more appealing thanks to an inflow of genuinely opulent materials, especially on the brand-new top-of-the-line Denali Ultimate. The installation of Super Cruise makes it possible to operate the truck hands-free as well. The infotainment system in the majority of cars has a Google-based dashboard display. The 2022 Sierra 1500 offers a wide range of engines, including a diesel six-cylinder with 460 pound-feet of torque and a V-8 with 420 horsepower. The strongest version of the vehicle can tow up to 13,200 pounds, and the recently added AT4X is essentially GMC's version of the Silverado ZR2 with an off-road specialty. What has changed for 2022? The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 receives a significant overhaul. Its exterior is enhanced by a more eye-catching front-end design, but the interior has undergone the most significant improvements. Every Sierra has a 13.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster, except the base Pro model. Real open-pore wood and leather-wrapped surfaces are included on the new Denali Ultimate, which further enhances the cabin's updated appearance. Numerous driver aids are included as standard equipment on all models, and the Denalis also offers Super Cruise. With its electronic-locking front and rear differentials, unique suspension parts, and larger off-road tires, the new AT4X stands out as the most durable model. The original V-6 engine is replaced with a turbo-four, which produces greater torque and works with a more responsive transmission. The Max Trailering kit can tow 4000 pounds more than before because it is now compatible with the diesel engine (13,200 pounds total). Which one to purchase? We prefer the Sierra Elevation trim level since it is in the center of the price spectrum and offers a good appearance package. Depending on your preferences, you'll also need to choose between a few various cab arrangements and bed lengths. Should you need it, an all-wheel drive is obtainable for an additional fee. In addition, GMC is currently offering "Limited" models of the pre-facelifted 2022 Sierras for less money than the upgraded models. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Interior and Comfort The Sierra's interior was created with the driver in mind. All of the controls are simple to operate, and as trim levels are increased, so does the quality of the materials. A 12.3-inch digital instrument panel becomes standard starting with the SLE. Even more desirable options, like a heads-up display and a power-adjustable steering column, become available when spending a lot on the higher models. Due to its abundance of leather-covered surfaces and open-pore wood trim, the Denali Ultimate is where things become posh. Additionally, the front chairs have 16-way motorized reclining and massaging capabilities. For keeping all kinds of little objects and goods, the interior cubby storage is more than ample. GMC doesn't offer any particularly cutting-edge storage options, but the Sierra 1500 may be ordered with a clever tailgate that can be set up in a variety of ways. Also available is a carbon fiber reinforced cargo bed that is said to be lighter and stronger than steel and is class-exclusive. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Pricing The 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 offers a range of trims to suit your needs and budget, with prices starting at $35,645 for the base Pro model and reaching up to a luxurious $82,695 for the Denali Ultimate. Trims like the SLE, Elevation, and SLT offer a good balance of features and affordability, while the AT4 caters to off-road enthusiasts. For the ultimate in comfort and capability, the Denali and AT4X trims provide top-of-the-line options but be prepared to pay a premium price. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Engine and Performance Rear- or all-wheel drive, four different engines, two different transmissions, and the Sierra are all options. The standard engine is a 2.7-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with 310 horsepower and 420 pound-feet of torque. It is paired with an automatic transmission with eight speeds. A 355-hp 5.3-liter and a 420-hp 6.2-liter V-8 are the two available options. Six-cylinder diesel engine producing 460 pound-feet of torque. A 10-speed automatic is connected to all three engines. Additionally, adaptive dampers and 22-inch wheels are options for the Sierra 1500. Although the Sierra lacks the Ford F-150 Raptor's tremendous off-road prowess, it does offer two specifically designed off-road models. The tough AT4 model has a 2.0-inch suspension raise in addition to other useful features. Except for the electronic-locking front and rear diffs, additional skid plates, and tough off-road tires set on black 18-inch wheels, the AT4X and Silverado ZR2 only share some characteristics. Although Sierra's ride is coarser than the Ram 1500s, it nevertheless drives astonishingly well and has minimal body roll. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Capacity for Towing and Payload When properly outfitted, the half-ton GMC truck can hold a payload of up to 2240 pounds and tow up to 13,200 pounds. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Fuel efficiency and MPG The 2022 Sierra 1500 has a variety of powertrain configurations, which affects how efficiently it uses fuel. The optional diesel engine, which has ratings of up to 23 mpg in the city and 30 mpg on the highway, should be considered by those who care most about fuel economy. However, the 6.2-liter V-8 that comes standard with every Denali model will be found in the majority of Sierra models. When combined with all-wheel drive, it is predicted to achieve 16 mpg in the city and 20 mpg on the highway. 18 mpg was the Sierra 1500 Denali's highway fuel economy in our actual driving test. 2022 GMC Sierra 1500: Connectivity The truck's infotainment system is controlled by a 13.4-inch touchscreen found in the majority of Sierra 1500 models. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on this bigger screen. Additionally, it has Google software integrated into it that gives customers access to an app store, maps, and voice assistant. A 12-speaker Bose music system, wireless phone charging, and more power outlets are further conveniences that are available.

  • 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee Review: Specs and Pricing

OVERVIEW The rugged Wrangler is probably what comes to mind when you shut your eyes and think of a Jeep, but the Grand Cherokee is just as vital to the commercial success of the renowned off-road manufacturer. Its allure is increased by combining outstanding off-road capabilities with on-road finesse, offers a wealth of available luxury amenities and equipment, and has the tough, natural appearance that Jeep owners adore. We also think highly of it and gave it an Editors' Choice award. Three different powertrains are available, including the well-known V-6 and V-8 models as well as a brand-new plug-in hybrid model that Jeep refers to as 4xe. There are no fewer than three different all-wheel-drive systems available to assist you in handling whatever your lifestyle requires, whether that's just commuting through winter weather or crawling boulders in Moab. Rear-wheel drive is standard on versions with the V-6. What has changed for 2022? To compete with the two-row Grand Cherokee of the previous generation, Jeep introduced a new version of the Grand Cherokee for the 2021 model year. However, the new model was only available in the L three-row configuration (reviewed separately). The Grand Cherokee sheds its old skin for the 2022 model year with the addition of a two-row body type atop the new architecture. Jeep will continue to offer the Grand Cherokee WK, the previous generation, through the 2022 model year. Which one to purchase? Consider it the Jeep tax, but the Grand Cherokee starts thousands of dollars more expensive than competitors like the Kia Telluride and the Hyundai Palisade, and its upper versions are priced comparable to certain luxury SUVs. Having said that, we believe the Limited model offers the best combination of features, outperforming the standard Laredo with additional gear to appease luxury shoppers. Leather upholstery, a power-operated rear liftgate, heated front, and rear seats, power-adjustable front seats, ambient interior lighting, auto-on high-beam headlamps, remote start, and other features are all standard on the Limited. We would invest in the Entertainment Group option, which includes nine-speaker Alpine audio and a larger 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen. We'd also pick the Lux Tech Group II package, which includes front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera system, a wireless phone charger, perforated leather upholstery, ventilated front seats, a power-adjustable steering column, a digital rearview mirror, second-row sunshades, a digital rearview mirror, rain-sensing windshield wipers, and an intersection collision avoidance feature. 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Interior and Comfort A completely renovated cabin replaces the rather old interior of the departing Grand Cherokee. While entry-level Laredo models come standard with the necessities, more expensive Summit and Overland trims come with extras like quilted leather upholstery, open-pore wood trim, and cutting-edge digital displays. Grand Cherokee buyers who want the third row can upgrade to the Grand Cherokee L, which we examine separately. Although we haven't had a chance to test the new Grand Cherokee, we anticipate that it will hold more of our carry-on bags than the ones from the previous generation. 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Pricing The Jeep Grand Cherokee comes in two versions: the standard and the L. The standard Grand Cherokee starts at a more affordable price of $37,460, while the most feature-packed version, the Summit Reserve, starts at $66,575. If you need more space, the larger Grand Cherokee L starts at $38,890. For the L, you can upgrade to the Limited trim for $45,210, or go all out for the Summit Reserve which goes over $68,000. 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Engine and Performance Like the Grand Cherokee of the previous generation, the new one is powered by a 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 or a 3.6-liter V-6 engine. In addition, Jeep provides its plug-in hybrid 4xe powertrain, which electrifies its family SUV. The base V-6 Grand Cherokee comes with rear-wheel drive as standard, however vehicles with the V-8 or plug-in hybrid engine come standard with all-wheel drive. There are numerous all-wheel-drive options, including one with an electronically locking limited-slip differential. There is also a Trail Hawk model with stronger off-road gear and more capability; it has an adjustable air suspension that offers up to 11.3 inches of ground clearance and a detaching sway bar that increases wheel articulation for negotiating rough terrain. We were thrilled by the Grand Cherokee's controlled, comfortable ride during our initial test drive, and we discovered that both the V-6 and V-8 engines had plenty of peps. The off-road-oriented Trailhawk accomplished the identical test at our test track in 7.7 seconds, while our V-6-powered Summit test car managed a decent 7.4 seconds. 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Fuel Efficiency and MPG When equipped with rear-wheel drive, the Grand Cherokee's fuel efficiency ratings of 19 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway are standard for the mid-size SUV market. The V-8 variant is rated for 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway, although both of those estimates are reduced by 1 mpg when all-wheel drive is added. The plug-in hybrid 4xe should achieve better fuel economy, but the EPA has not yet provided numbers for that model. With a 14.0-kWh battery pack and a 134-hp electric motor, models with the 4xe plug-in hybrid engine enable the Grand Cherokee to travel up to 25 miles on a single charge. According to Jeep, the Grand Cherokee with the 4xe powertrain successfully traversed the renowned Rubicon Trail totally in EV mode. 2022 Jeep Grand Cherokee: Connectivity Either an 8.4-inch or 10.1-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Sirius XM satellite radio comes standard on the Grand Cherokee's dashboard. Higher-end vehicles can be ordered with a digital gauge cluster, a 10.0-inch head-up display, and another 10.3-inch monitor built into the dashboard for use by the front-seat passenger. In-dash navigation with real-time traffic and weather updates is optional. While the Laredo and Limited models come with a standard six-speaker radio, customers can choose to upgrade to a high-end 19-speaker McIntosh or nine-speaker Alpine audio system.

  • 2022 Toyota Camry Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview The 2022 Toyota Camry has the same nameplate as earlier models, but because of its exaggerated appearance and performance model, it is hardly recognizable. This is because the current Camry is likely its most enticing model yet. The common, if boring, four-cylinder engine is cost-effective and suitable for daily driving. Even if the hybrid version's acceleration is unremarkable, it maximizes fuel efficiency. With the sport-tuned Camry TRD, which is truly fun to drive, the lusty 301-hp V-6 is left to take up the pace. While the overall refinement and satisfaction of competitors like the Honda Accord and Hyundai Sonata may be higher, Toyota has several appealing attributes of its own, including a full complement of standard active safety features and the goodwill built up over many years of proven dependability. What has changed for 2022? The diversity of the 2022 Camry lineup's models' appearances is the only thing that has changed. The Nightshade appearance package, which includes black exterior trim, black wheels, etc., is now available on hybrid vehicles, unlike before. Along with somewhat altered color options, the Camry now offers Edge White on non-TRD trim levels. The Galactic Aqua color, however, is no longer available. Which one to purchase? The tuned-up TRD model of the Camry is the spiciest of the group, so we'd choose that one. Only the 301-hp V-6 and eight-speed automatic are offered with it. The sedan features a retuned suspension that is 0.6 inches lower than on the standard vehicles in addition to its sportier body makeover, which includes a subtle rear spoiler and two noticeable exhaust points. Larger front brake rotors and black 18-inch rims with all-season or summer tires are two further performance-improving improvements. Even while its cat-back exhaust system doesn't sound as thrilling as its many aerodynamic add-ons suggest, the enhancements make the Camry TRD more fun to drive than the rest of the lineup. 2022 Toyota Camry: Interior and comfort We've driven the Camry in both its top-tier XLE and more budget-friendly SE trim levels. Both are roomy and cozy, but the XLE is beyond opulent. However, there is a significant difference in material quality between the less expensive variants and the more expensive models, and the dashboard's center section's uninspiring design turned off several of us. The Camry is a spacious sedan with plenty of storage space inside, both in the cabin and in the trunk when the back seat is folded. Although it isn't at the top in every storage category, it is very competitive overall. Toyota moved the Camry hybrid's battery from the trunk to underneath the back seats so those hybrid owners wouldn't have to give up cargo space in exchange for better gas mileage. 2022 Toyota Camry: Pricing The 2022 Toyota Camry starts at $26,320 for a basic LE model with front-wheel drive. If you want the most loaded version, the XSE with a V6 engine and front-wheel drive, it will cost $36,745. All-wheel drive can be added to some gasoline-powered models for an extra $1,400. Hybrid versions start at $28,405 and go up to $33,845. 2022 Toyota Camry: Engine and Performance Although the eight-speed automated transmission and conventional four-cylinder engine are smooth, the power plant's acceleration capabilities are underwhelming. The Camry hybrid is powered by a less potent variation of that engine coupled with a battery and two electric motors, but it isn't any more fun to drive than the original engine. The silky 301-hp V-6, which is offered on the XLE, XSE, and TRD models as well as the variation, is the actual diamond of this lineup. Additionally, we're pleased to report that we no longer detest driving the Camry. It handles surprisingly well and has a calm ride. When cornering, the steering has a pleasing weight to it, and it feels light when navigating parking lots. Even in the hybrid, where it must combine friction with regenerative braking (where the energy from braking is used to recharge the hybrid's battery pack), we found the Camry's brake pedal to be quick and not overly soft. However, the hybrid's brake pedal is touchy at slower speeds, making parking maneuvers somewhat jerky. 2022 Toyota Camry: Fuel efficiency and MPG The entire Camry family performed admirably in the EPA tests, and a four-cylinder model excelled in our in-depth testing on real-world highways. The base LE hybrid model received ratings of 51 mpg city and 53 mpg highway, while the LE and SE with the four-cylinder engine received ratings of 28 mpg city and 39 mpg highway. However, the hybrid's higher trims make certain efficiency sacrifices in favor of luxury, while V-6-powered vehicles received ratings of up to 33 mpg on the highway and 22 mpg in the city. In our highway test, a four-cylinder Camry SE achieved 45 mpg, exceeding its own EPA rating by 6 mpg, and becoming the most economical non-hybrid vehicle we've ever tested. Even by one mpg, it outperformed the Camry XLE hybrid that we tested.

  • 2022 Toyota RAV4 Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview Even though the 2022 Toyota RAV4 isn't the most exciting compact SUV to drive, its usefulness and efficiency increase its value and qualify it for an Editor's Choice award. Although the entry-level model is reasonably priced but quite basic, mid-range trims offer a wealth of features that customers in this market will value. Front-wheel drive, an eight-speed automatic transmission, and a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine are all standard. Although there is an all-wheel drive option, you won't see even the toughest RAV4 model pulling up next to a 4-Runner or a Tacoma at the trailhead. The RAV4 has a wide range of standard driver-assistance systems, including adaptive cruise control. Luxury options including faux-leather upholstery, heated seats, and a JBL sound system are included with upscale models. A RAV4 Hybrid, which we examine separately, is an option for those seeking even greater efficiency. What has changed for 2022? The smallest modifications to the RAV4 are made for 2022: Cavalry Blue is a new color option, and LED fog lamps are now standard on the XLE Premium, Limited, Adventure, and TRD Off-Road trims. All models also come with more aggressively designed headlamps, except the base LE model. Which one to Purchase? Although it's difficult for us to pass on the awesome new TRD Off-Road, we'd exercise restraint and go with the XLE Premium in the middle. It comes with many features as standard that the LE and XLE do not, including 19-inch wheels, a power liftgate, dual-zone automatic climate control, faux-leather upholstery, and a steering wheel and shift knob covered in leather. There isn't much of a reason to choose a more expensive model unless, of course, you want ventilated seats because Toyota includes its suite of driver-assistance functions as standard across the lineup. 2022 Toyota RAV4: Interior and Comfort The RAV4 prioritizes cubby storage and ergonomics. The spacious center console is complemented by a functional shelf that spans the dash. The model that we tested included both beautiful plastics and soft-touch surfaces. The LE base grade has single-zone manual climate control, plasticky seats, and a steering wheel. It is fairly basic. Toyota includes a few bonuses on the XLE, the model up, but the XLE Premium has many more appealing features, such as faux-leather upholstery, a steering wheel and shifter wrapped in leather, and a stitched and padded dashboard and center-console armrest. The RAV4's back seats are simple to store and fold almost flat to make more room inside for cargo. Behind the back seat, we could fit 10 carry-on bags and 22, when the back seat was folded. Here, the Nissan Rogue and the RAV4 were tied, but the Subaru Forester triumphed in every metric by one. 2022 Toyota RAV4: Pricing The 2022 Toyota RAV4 offered a range of trims with varying starting prices. The most affordable option was the LE trim level starting at $27,740 for the front-wheel drive version. If you opted for all-wheel drive, the LE price bumped up slightly to $28,960. Climbing the trim ladder, expect to pay around $29,780 for the XLE (FWD) and $31,000 (AWD). Higher trims like XLE Premium, Adventure, and Limited added more features and pushed the starting MSRP between $32,670 and $36,245 depending on the drivetrain. 2022 Toyota RAV4: Engine and Performance A 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with 203 horsepower and an eight-speed automated transmission power the 2022 RAV4. Although all-wheel drive is now an option, front-wheel drive is still the default system offered by Toyota. This depends on the trim level. The Adventure model we tested included an all-wheel-drive system that could be switched off when necessary to increase fuel efficiency. The 2019 RAV4 outperformed the 2018 model at our test track, clocking in at 60 mph in 8.0 seconds compared to 8.3 seconds for the 2018 model. The obedient four-cylinder may be raucous, especially when trying to pass on the highway, and the transmission in our test car appeared to stutter when it was time to downshift. In our hands, the RAV4 Hybrid recorded an even quicker time of 7.4 seconds for 0-60 mph. The Mazda CX-5 is our segment favorite, but the RAV4 lacks the same confidence while driving down the highway or along a winding part of the road. The RAV4 feels steady and robust in both of these situations. 2022 Toyota RAV4: Fuel Efficiency and MPG The EPA provided fuel-economy ratings for the RAV4 that was in its class. On the interstate, front-wheel-drive RAV4s may achieve up to an estimated 35 mpg. On our 200-mile highway fuel-economy trip, the all-wheel-drive Adventure returned 32 mpg for us, 1 mpg less than the EPA's predicted rating for that trim. This puts it on a par with the Honda CR-V and is a significant gain over the 2018 Adventure model (which only achieved 25 mpg), but the Volkswagen Tiguan beats it out with 33 mpg. 2022 Toyota RAV4: Connectivity A 7.0-inch touchscreen is standard on lower trims, but starting at the XLE level, an 8.0-inch touchscreen is available. A 4G LTE mobile hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto are all infotainment system features. Optional extras include a wireless charging station for a smartphone, GPS, and a JBL premium music system. Don't worry if you choose a trim level without navigation. The Scout GPS Link feature, which is standard on all other models, enables compatible smartphones to project a map and turn-by-turn directions onto the dashtop screen.

  • 2022 RAM Pickup 1500 Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview Pickups come with a range of skills, but the 2022 Ram 1500 is substantially nicer than other half-ton trucks, therefore it has more skills than most. Even while the entry-level vehicles lack the luxurious materials and upmarket features of the more expensive trims, they nonetheless ride better than their more expensive rivals because of their more advanced suspension, which can be made cushier with the use of the optional air springs. Additionally, Ram offers 1500 with a split-folding tailgate, a huge 12.0-inch touchscreen, and storage spaces incorporated into the cargo bed. Its lineup of engines includes a 395-hp Hemi V-8 (with or without hybrid assistance) and an environmentally friendly diesel six-cylinder with 480 pound-feet of torque. All of these engines are connected to a smooth automatic transmission. The strongest setup has a 12,750-pound towing capacity. The Ram 1500 won't be mistaken for anything other than a truck, of course, but the fact that it may pass for a luxury car is what makes it unique and what gets it an Editors' Choice award. What has changed for 2022? Ram increases the selection of ways customers can purchase its half-ton pickup for 2022. A sporty G/T package for the Laramie and Rebel, a hardy BackCountry Edition, and an even more opulent variation of the top-tier Limited called the 10th Anniversary Edition are among the new additions to the portfolio. A cold-air intake, distinctive exhaust system, paddle shifters, and a console-mounted shifter distinguish the G/T. The BackCountry Edition is essentially an off-road-oriented package for the Big Horn and Lone Star vehicles, which are valued for their affordability. The 10th Anniversary Edition further elevates the Limited model with even more luxurious interior finishes, a Blue Shade paint color only offered, and unique badging inside and out. Which one to Purchase? Even though the 702-hp Ram 1500 TRX (reviewed separately) makes the Rebel less desirable, we still believe it to be the half-ton Ram to purchase. We would choose the crew cab with four-wheel drive and prefer the V-8 over the basic V-6 due to its increased power and seductive rumble. Due to the air suspension's adjustable ride height, we would also pick it. Given that it only works with the Level 1 or Level 2 package, we believe that the latter's remote start, 115-volt outlet, front and rear parking sensors, power-adjustable pedals, passive hands-free entry, and other features make it the one to get. Additionally, we would choose the 33-gallon gasoline tank, which will require fewer fill-ups on long drives than the conventional 26-gallon tank. Bedliner The Safety and Convenience package, which includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high lights, and lane-keeping assistance, and the Multi-function Tailgate, which also includes a Bedliner spray, is the only further option we'd advise. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Interior and Comfort The Ram 1500's interior features enormous passenger capacity and cubby storage that is incredibly functional. The Ram seems more like a luxury car than a pickup truck in higher trim levels thanks to the addition of expensive materials and creature comforts. The most expensive models have superior leather surfaces and real wood accents. Still, the majority of cars are capable of having upmarket options like heated and ventilated seats and a panoramic sunroof. The crew cab of the Ram 1500 is incredibly roomy, as it is with most full-size pickup trucks. Additionally, it boasts an unusual split-folding tailgate and a tonne of inside storage. There are two available cargo beds, measuring five feet seven inches and six feet four inches, but the expanded Quad Cab only goes with the longer one. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Pricing Starting MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price): ranged from $38,985 for the base Tradesman to $85,885 for the high-performance TRX, reaching over $100,000 with options. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Engine and Performance Its numerous trim levels include V-6 and V-8 gasoline engines that all go well with an eight-speed automatic transmission. A 48-volt hybrid system supports both engines, however, the 5.7-liter Hemi V-8 is also available without electric assistance. We've driven a few vehicles with the latter and were impressed by the engine's quick acceleration and baritone exhaust note. We've also driven Rams equipped with the 3.0-liter Eco-diesel diesel V-6, which produces greater torque than comparable diesel engines on the half-ton Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra (480 pound-feet). Although the diesel-powered six-cylinder is slower than the Hemi, it is more refined and offers higher fuel efficiency. The tough Rebel model offers a beefier appearance and true off-road prowess for those who like to explore. Every Ram 1500 features an outstanding ride thanks to a rear suspension that, in contrast to the conventional leaf-spring configuration found on domestic rivals, uses basic coil springs or optional air springs. Even models with changeable ride heights help with fuel efficiency and off-road capability. These models come with air suspension. It also offers calm cruising and secure stops thanks to its light steering and powerful brakes. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Capacity for Towing and Payload The Ram 1500 has a payload capacity of up to 2320 pounds and a towing capacity of up to 12,750 pounds. Except for the Ford F-150, which can already haul more than 13,000 pounds, it has a higher maximum towing capability. Rams with crew cabs, like the Rebel model, can tow more than 11,500 pounds even if they can't haul as much as extended Quad Cab models. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Fuel Efficiency and MPG The Ram 1500 series offers various fuel economy levels thanks to its hybridized V-6 and V-8 engines as well as a diesel alternative. The most efficient V-6 Ram is predicted to achieve up to 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the motorway, while the V-8 model is predicted to achieve up to 17 mpg in the city and 23 mpg on the highway. The government predicts that Rams driven by diesel engines will achieve up to 22 cities and 32 highway mpg; all-wheel drive will result in somewhat lower mileage. On our 75 mph real-world fuel-economy route, which is a part of our rigorous testing process, the Rebel we evaluated obtained a 24 mpg highway. This is 4 mpg more than the non-hybrid V-8 Laramie we drove and 6 mpg more than the gas-only V-8 Rebel we tested. hybridized. 2022 RAM Pickup 1500: Connectivity Ram pickups have had among the greatest connection and entertainment options in their class for a while now. Except for the base Ram model, the newest trucks maintain this trend with a snappy 8.4-inch or enormous optional 12.0-inch touchscreen. It's a shame that the large display had numerous issues during our 40,000-mile long-term test. Numerous power outlets, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile hotspot are among the features of the systems. Fortunately, physical knobs and hard buttons complement touch points on even the largest screens.

  • 2022 Chevrolet Silverado Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview When it comes to full-size trucks, brand loyalty is important, and the 2022 Chevy Silverado will excite brand devotees. The Ram 1500 boasts the finest ride quality and the nicest inside in the class, while the Ford F-150 recently had a facelift and now provides the segment's only hybrid variant. However, the 22 Silverado responds with a stylish interior and a novel self-driving capability that works with a trailer. The Chevy offers a robust lineup of engine choices, ranging from the powerful turbo-four to the torquey six-cylinder diesel to the robust 6.2-liter V-8. It has a towing capacity of up to 13,300 pounds and a variety of high-tech trailering aids are available. The 2022 Silverado strives to keep up with its half-ton competitors despite having a rough ride and several other refinement concerns. It handles admirably for a truck. What has changed for 2022? Chevy modifies the Silverado significantly for 2022. Except for the LT and higher, all trims now feature restyled front ends. These variants include a massive 13.4-inch touchscreen entertainment system and a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster in addition to superior inside materials and a more contemporary design. The majority of active safety systems are now standard on every Silverado, and the top-of-the-line High Country model may be ordered with Super Cruise, GM's hands-free driving technology. There is also an aggressive ZR2 off-road model added to the Silverado inventory, albeit it isn't as extreme as the Ford F-150 Raptor or the Ram 1500 TRX (reviewed separately). Which one to Purchase? The Work Truck and Custom trim at the bottom are great for contractors and those on a budget, but the LT model is where the finer inside comes into play, and we believe that it is the one you should buy. For most cargo and passenger rooms, we'd also customize our Silverado with the crew cab and standard-length bed. The 5.3-liter V-8 is more affordable and faster than the available diesel engine, so we'd go with it. Unlike the regular turbo-four, the V-8 also enables us to choose the Z71 Off-Road package, which includes a variety of improved gear that makes having fun in the mud and dirt easier. Additionally, Chevy is promoting pre-facelifted 2022 Silverados that are marked as "LTD" vehicles and are less expensive than their upgraded counterparts. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado: Pricing The price of the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado depends on the trim level and options you choose. The starting MSRP for the 2022 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is $31,500 for the Work Truck trim level. The highest trim level, High Country, starts at $61,495. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado: Interior and Comfort The Silverado may be set up in a variety of ways, from the bare-bones Work Truck variant to the luxurious High Country. Simple necessities like manually adjusted front seats, manual locks and windows, and vinyl seats are all that are offered in base versions. But beginning with the LT level, the inside is noticeably sexier thanks to a more attractive dashboard with a 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster and a sizable central touchscreen. The leather upholstery and open-pore wood trim in the interior of The High Country make it very attractive. Although the rear seat in the crew cab is spacious and has plenty of headroom, we found the cushions to be uncomfortable. Nevertheless, this is a useful carrier with shrewd storage cubbies placed throughout the cabin. While the Chevy doesn't have the half-ton Sierra's carbon fiber reinforced cargo bed, it is now offered with a Multi-Flex multi-function tailgate, which is similar. Additionally, the variety of bed lengths offered by the Chevy will please traditionalists. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado: The Infotainment system A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a mobile hotspot comes standard on every Silverado 1500. Interacting with the system is easy thanks to the tactile knobs and buttons, and we valued how quickly the screen responded to our touch inputs. The 13.4-inch horizontal touchscreen in the LT level and upwards boasts additional capabilities such as a Google voice assistant, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and possible Amazon Alexa integration. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado: Engine and Performance There is a Silverado 1500 for any task thanks to a variety of engines, including a turbocharged four-cylinder, two V-8s, and a Duramax diesel 3.0-liter inline-six. The 420-hp 6.2-liter is the most powerful of the two eight-cylinder engines, accelerating the Silverado High Country we tested to 60 mph in just 5.4 seconds. The smaller 5.3-liter engine with 355 horsepower required 6.1 seconds as a comparison. With 420 pound-feet of torque, the turbocharged 2.7-liter four-cylinder should be more effective when towing. Although the Silverado we tried with the diesel engine had the slowest acceleration of the group, we were delighted by how smoothly and quietly it ran. Every Silverado we've driven has seemed smaller inside than its size would imply. The truck handles remarkably well, and the brake pedal gives firm, comforting input. The Trail Boss model will appeal to those seeking a more hardy half-ton Silverado. It has modifications like a 2.0-inch lift, gnarly tires, and other elements that make driving the winding road simpler and more enjoyable. The most serious off-road vehicle is the new ZR2, which we assess separately. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado: Capacity for Towing and Payload A serious hauler, the half-ton Silverado has a maximum towing capability of 13,300 pounds. The Ram 1500's maximum towing capacity is beaten by 550 pounds, while the F-150's is 700 pounds lower. Both the diesel engine and the 6.2-liter V-8 can reach Chevy's maximum towing capacity, although the 5.3-liter model can still tow up to 11,500 pounds. 2022 Chevrolet Silverado" Models with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine have a 9500-pound towing capacity. When it comes to the pickup's payload, which ranges from 1870 to 2280 pounds, the powertrains are less important.

  • 2022 Ford F-150 Review: Specs and Pricing

OVERVIEW The 2022 Ford F-150 is a workhorse that can be customized with various trims and body types to meet a variety of tasks. While oil tycoons and affluent ranch owners would feel right at home in the King Ranch or Limited versions, contractors and fleet managers will like the base XL's inexpensive price and utilitarian design. Various engines are also available, including a hybrid and a diesel. The off-road capable Tremor model guarantees to get you almost everywhere you need to go. The F-150 has the tenacity to finish the job. Ford's reputation and greater range of available options have historically convinced many purchasers to choose it over its main competition, the Ram 1500, even though it isn't quite as pleasant to live with daily. We're glad to include the F-150 on our list of Editors' Choice vehicles since we're confident that very few of them have regretted their purchase. What has changed for 2022? For 2022, the F-150 now offers a new Black Appearance package, available on the XL, XLT, Lariat, and Platinum trim levels. The Bed Utility package is now a standard feature on the luxurious King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited trims and an option on the XL, XLT, Lariat, and Tremor trims. It has lockable cleat-style tie-downs and a tailgate step. Additionally, this year's color scheme includes Atlas Blue. For the 2022 model, the all-electric F-150 Lightning will also go on sale, but we examine that model separately. Which one to Purchase? There are various body types and bed lengths for the F-150. While the XLT model is an improvement over the entry-level XL work truck, we think the Lariat offers more conveniences. It provides the best balance of features and price, but it costs about $10,000 more than the XLT, which may make it out of reach for certain consumers. 2022 Ford F-150: Interior and Comfort Particularly in Ford's more expensive King Ranch, Platinum, and Limited models, interior features in the F-150 come close to matching the luxurious interior of the Ram 1500. The cabin is furnished with high-quality materials and has many storage compartments. For people who utilize the F-150 as a mobile workstation, additional convenience features are designed to make life simpler. For instance, the center console and shift lever of the 10-speed automatic may be folded flat to make a sizable flat surface. Similar fold-flat front seats for the F-150 are also an option that may be chosen. The four-door crew cab body design is the largest and most accommodating for families, offering substantial passenger capacity. In the bed of the F-150's back end Up to 7.2 kW of power is available from an optional onboard generator to satisfy electrical demands at the tailgate gatherings or on the construction site. 2022 Ford F-150: Pricing The price of the 2022 Ford F-150 starts at $33,315 and goes up to $79,055 depending on the trim and options. 2022 Ford F-150: Connectivity A considerably larger 12.0-inch infotainment display is available in addition to the 8.0-inch device that comes standard and runs an enhanced version of Ford's Sync 4 software. This is comparable to the Ram 1500's optional 12.0-inch vertically oriented display, although the larger 13.4-inch screens for the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra are also an option. A Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS, Sirius XM radio, and a Bang & Olufsen music system are all options; Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are both standards. The updated software for Sync 4 includes onboard telematics for fleet customers to assist track vehicle position and usage, over-the-air upgrades for upcoming software releases, traffic and weather updates via the optional navigation system, and more. 2022 Ford F-150: Engine and Performance The 2022 F-150 is offered with a variety of motors, including a 400-hp 5.0-liter V-8, a 400-hp twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6, a 400-hp 2.7-liter V-6, and a 250-hp 3.0-liter diesel engine. Any engine you select for the F-150 will be mated with a 10-speed automatic transmission. For the first vehicle ever, a hybrid powertrain is also available for the F-150. Ford claims that the new 400-hp hybrid drivetrain, which is made up of a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V-6, a 35 kW electric motor, and a 10-speed automatic transmission, will provide up to 700 miles of range per tank of gas and be able to run an onboard generator to keep the lights on at construction sites or during power outages. With any of the F-150's available powertrains, buyers will be able to select between rear- and four-wheel drive. A four-wheel drive Lariat with a hybrid powertrain raced to 60 mph on our test course in a snappy 5.4 seconds. We saw a smooth ride and acceptable handling throughout our test drive; high-end models like the King Ranch have variable-assist steering technology that sharpens reflexes at low speeds for a more nimble feeling. The Tremor variant, which boasts 33-inch all-terrain tires, an improved suspension, a locking rear differential, and a four-wheel drive transfer case used from the powerful F-150 Raptor, promises the most off-road capability. The Tremor reached 60 mph at our test track in 5.3 seconds, edging out the more potent Raptor by just 0.1 seconds. 2022 Ford F-150: Capacity for Towing and Payload Models with the 400-hp twin-turbo 3.5-liter V-6 engine can tow up to 14,000 pounds, but the regular 3.3-liter V-6 engine's towing limit is 8200 pounds. The venerable 5.0-liter V-8 has a maximum towing capacity of only 13,000 pounds, compared to 12,100 pounds for the diesel V-6 and 12,700 pounds for the hybrid variant. The weight of the payload varies from 1840 to 3250 pounds. The 2018 F-150 remains competitive with important rivals like the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, GMC Sierra 1500, and Ram 1500 thanks to its towing and payload capacities.

  • 2022 Ford Bronco Review: Specs and Pricing

Overview The 2022 Ford Bronco boasts a design that brings back memories as well as excellent on-road manners and incredible off-road prowess. The reason Ford's off-roader is so popular is due to the sheer breadth of its possibilities. The Bronco is similarly configurable with a convertible top, two- and four-door body styles, and removable doors, whereas the Jeep Wrangler has dominated the off-road world as the de facto SUV for people seeking a vehicle with genuine trail-eating cred—even if they never plan to tackle a boulder-strewn two-track. The sturdy materials and straightforward design inside evoke the vintage, original Bronco, but the interior design appears cheap on higher trim levels. All Broncos come equipped with all-wheel drive and a turbo-four or twin-turbo V-6 engine. Both are swift and responsive but neither is extremely fuel-efficient or has a particularly pleasing sound. The 2022 Bronco is the ultimate off-road SUV thanks to the optional Sasquatch and Everglades packages, which also include beefier tires and other improvements. It is listed on both our 10 Best and Editors' Choice lists. What has changed for 2022? The 2022 Bronco selection expands with the addition of the Everglades model, which builds on an off-road-focused Sasquatch package, after completing its first model year. The Everglades adds a snorkel air intake, a Warn winch that can pull up to 10,000 pounds, and 17-inch rims on 35-inch tires in addition to distinctive visual cues, including a special Desert Sand paint color. However, it is only available with the 300-hp turbo-four and the four-door body style. Sadly, the engine doesn't work with the seven-speed manual transmission; only with the 10-speed automatic. Ford has also released the Hoss 3.0 kit, which costs $2505, for the Wildtrak variant, which modifies the chassis and includes stronger Fox adaptive dampers. However, at this time, it is only accessible to customers with reservations and ad hoc orders. The newest Bronco model, the Raptor (reviewed separately), boasts a 400+ horsepower twin-turbo V-6, a stronger suspension, and optional 37-inch tires. Which one to Purchase? The starting price of the base two-door Bronco is just over $32,000, but the cost of upgrading to higher trims rises quickly. For it to live up to its off-road roots, our ideal configuration would be a four-door with a more potent engine. This suggests the Bronco Wildtrack, which includes enormous 35-inch mud-terrain tires and 17-inch Beadlock-capable wheels as standard equipment. 2022 Ford Bronco: Interior and Comfort The Bronco offers the same open-air capabilities that make the Wrangler a thrill for outdoor enthusiasts and is available with two or four doors, soft tops or hardtops, and removable body panels. Additionally, Ford's interior features a few more advancements than the Jeep. For instance, the top of the dashboard of Bronco has a rack that can be used to mount iPhones and GoPros. It also includes easily removable frameless doors. Their lengthy side glass, however, can snag the weatherstripping and let more wind noise into the cabin. The four-door variants with expanded wheelbases, however, have room inside to store all four doors. The external mirrors are still functional when the doors are removed since they are attached to the base of the windshield. The cabin can be shielded from the elements when exposed by using marine-grade vinyl upholstery and available rubberized flooring. Leather seating surfaces are available for those who prefer a more opulent setting, although the interior's large expanses of plastic seem cheap on the upper trim. Even with the two-door Bronco, the back seat has enough room to accommodate two persons. The four-door variant is the only one with a third, middle seat in the back and slightly greater legroom, but much of its additional length goes to the cargo compartment, which is significantly bigger than the two-door. 2022 Ford Bronco: Connectivity The 8.0- or 12.0-inch touchscreen that is integrated into the middle of the Bronco's dashboard is driven by Ford's most recent in-dash Sync 4 software. The system supports wireless connections to the cloud and the user's smartphone and supports over-the-air updates. Several contemporary infotainment options, including Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and a WiFi hotspot that requires a subscription, are also supported by the infotainment system. Desirable features like an improved B&O stereo and built-in navigation can be added to the device. 2022 Ford Bronco: Engine and Performance Sorry, everyone. There aren't eight cylinders in the Bronco. Instead, a 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with 300 horsepower is standard, and a 2.7-liter twin-turbo V-6 engine with 330 horsepower is optional. Both gas engines can be connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission, while a seven-speed manual transmission can only be used with the smaller engine. Sadly, neither engine offers a piece of motivating background music. All Broncos have independent front suspension, which is more advanced than the front stick axle on a Jeep. All Broncos also have power going to all four wheels. 35-inch mud-terrain tires, Beadlock-capable wheels, electronic locking front, and rear differentials, and a sway-bar disconnect mechanism are additional interesting choices. The Bronco's on-road smoothness pleased us after our initial driving impressions. In addition to having more precise steering than the Wrangler's wheel, the Ford also has superior handling in general. Naturally, there is a noticeable brake dip because it has the widest tires and softest suspension, and its body-on-frame structure isn't a secret. The Bronco, however, isn't a one-trick pony and is capable of navigating extremely dangerous terrain. The towing capacity of the two-door and four-door variants is similarly 3500 pounds, the same as the Wrangler.
